Mossberg 590 Tactical

The Mossberg 590 Tactical is a pump-action shotgun chambered for 12 gauge and built for home defense and tactical applications with a reputation for reliability from military and law enforcement use. It features a 20 inch barrel with a fixed cylinder bore and heat shield, a 3 inch chamber that accepts both 2-3/4 and 3 inch shells, and an extended magazine tube that holds 8 rounds of 2-3/4 inch shells plus one in the chamber. The matte blued finish and ambidextrous top tang thumb safety support straightforward operation in varied conditions.

Positive steel-to-steel bolt lock-up, dual extractors, an anti-jam elevator, and dual action bars ensure smooth cycling and reliable extraction under stress. A bead sight provides a simple aiming reference, and the design includes both a synthetic stock and a pistol grip kit so the user can configure the shotgun for different handling preferences. Overall length varies between approximately 32.5 and 41 inches depending on the stock configuration, with corresponding weights of 5.75 to 7.75 pounds.

This model is well suited for home defense, security applications, and slug hunting for deer or hogs where the short barrel and high capacity deliver fast handling and hard-hitting performance. The interchangeable stock options allow adaptation to different users or scenarios, and the rugged construction supports consistent function with a range of 12 gauge loads. Shooters seeking a proven, high-capacity pump-action shotgun with tactical features will find the 590 Tactical a dependable choice.
